SynchroStor choose DDM for PLM

We are pleased to announce that SynchroStor, developers of a cost-effective grid-scale energy storage technology, has chosen DDM for it’s CAD system Solidworks to address its short and long term requirement for Product Data & Lifecycle Management.

About the Customer
SynchroStor is an engineering R&D business founded in 2017 with the express purpose of developing a cost effective grid-scale energy storage technology using pumped heat and storage media stored at ambient pressure with minimal losses.
The primary focus has been on de-risking the most innovative sub-systems in the PTES – the compressor expander and lock hoppers. Comprehensive numerical modelling has been undertaken and proof of concepts have been demonstrated in various test rigs.
Under the LODES Phase 2 programme, SynchroStor’s objective is to further develop the novel sub-systems and ultimately combine them in a megawatt scale multi-hour pilot demonstrator. The pilot will validate the technology at TRL 6 while preparing for market entry.
In parallel, SynchroStor is applying the novel compressor technology developed through the LODES programme to build high temperature heat pumps for industrial scale heat decarbonisation.
